Who We Are

The volunteers who organized the May 31, 2003 Celebration of Community Housing Tour formed the Workforce Housing Coalition to take the next step toward creating more moderately priced homes in San Luis Obispo County.

The housing tour was an important first step toward increasing community awareness of the problems we face and some solutions. We believe that well-designed, higher-density housing can look very attractive and give members of the workforce a chance to live near enough to their jobs so that people have more time to spend with family and in community activities.  We hold public education events and advocate for housing that supports our mission.

Our Board of Directors meets from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on the first Thursday of every month at the County Government Center, 4th floor conference room, 1055 Monterey Street, San Luis Obispo. If you would like to attend, please call 546-2850. We welcome your insight and participation. Even if you cannot make the meetings, we would like to know if you could support our cause by helping in other ways.
